2009 HOLIDAY PROJECT - AMERICAN HOSPICE FOUNDATION.
Please visit the American Hospice Foundation website for more information about their organization.
While having dinner at a local Mexican restaurant in October of 2003, we noticed the owner of the restaurant had issued a challenge to his customers. For every order of dip purchased, his restaurant would make a contribution to the local Make-A-Wish chapter. That single gesture made us realize that it was time for us to give something back to the community. Since then, Geno's Garage and it's customers have donated just under $40,000 to various charitable organizations.
How does our annual holiday project work? From now through December 31, 2009, Geno's Garage sells "got diesel?" t-shirts for $9.95 (and who doesn't need a new t-shirt?). Then we send 100% of the procceds (not only the profits) directly to the organization selected. For 2009, the staff of Geno's Garage has selected as its project the American Hospice Foundation, a small organization that works to improve access to hospice care nationwide. If any of you have had the need to use the services of your local hospice care provider, you understand what an incredible job they do.
So here is our challenge to you. Give those on your holiday gift list a "got diesel?" t-shirt this year. Every time they wear it they will think of you (snicker), and you'll be giving to a very worthy cause. And for those of you who gave them one last year (or the year before), it is probably time to replace those t-shirts with crisp new white ones.
Thank you all, in advance, for your support of this project. Our goals are modest this year. We know it has been a difficult year for most Americans and charitable giving is probably harder than ever. But let's get out there and demonstrate just what Geno's Garage customers and Turbo Diesel Register members can do for others.
