DescriptionLooking for a way to dissipate heat from your Dodge Turbo Diesel 5-speed or 6-speed manual transmission? The answer is the Fast Cooler!
- 6063T6 extruded heat-sink aluminum extends the PTO cover
- Finned coolers increase gearbox fluid capacity by 2 quarts (one quart per side)
- 1/4 NPT fitting to easily add a transmission temp sensor
- Magnetic plug used for filling and checking lubricant
- Kit includes sealant, hardware, and instructions
Dimensions: 6.5L" x 5W" x 3D"
NOTE: Check for possible clearance problems with a larger aftermarket exhaust system before ordering. You will need a minimum of 3 inches of clearance from the base of the PTO mounting surface.
NOTE: If you want to use the Fast Cooler Kit on a 2005 or newer truck equipped with a G56 transmission, you will need the G56 adapter plates.
NOTE: To determine whether your 2005 truck has a NV4500/5600 or G56 transmission, see the shift patterns below.

Perfect fit and a great way to add two quarts of trans. oil without having to overfill. Increasing the level increases friction. Yes, gears running through oil create friction. Increasing capacity without increasing the level is the way to go.
Worth the investment

Though I can't say 100% that these are worth the invest because I haven't installed them yet, but I'm sure that once they are on they will be 100% worth the investment. I also bought the fast coolers covers for them. I also plan to put a temp sensor in when I install them. Overall, these are built heavier than I expected and can't wait to get them on!

Installed a pair of these about 6 months ago on my 2001 Dodge 2500 4x4 Cummins with 6-speed manual. They seal well and add cooling surface area with ease of installing a temp sensor which I have not done yet. I installed them incorrectly the first time by not noticing a small 1 inch protrusion on the transmission housing that blocked my easy access to the fill port. Only after they were on did I see the problem. I had to pull them off and switch sides and then get them all sealed up again. Attention to ALL details for clearance and access is important. No problem clearing stock exhaust pipe. 4" pipe going in soon, looks like there should be plenty of room still for MBRP exhaust. In retrospect it would be nice to have a sight glass window in one of the end plates so I would know basic fluid level. I run a total of 8 qts of Amsoil manual tranny fluid and it shifts and works beautifully. Truck has 112,000 miles on it. Now I have no concern for heat levels in tranny going through mountains to desert and back from coast.
