Description

These steering shafts are replacements for the underhood intermediate shaft.

Full-size Dodge Ram trucks have a type of steering coupler that can show signs of wear in as little as 4500 miles, depending on how the truck is used. This wear, which causes play in the truck's steering, is even more noticeable if your truck is used for plowing, towing or if oversized tires have been installed.

Replacing the worn steering shaft with another OEM shaft only gives you a temporary fix. Borgeson has replacement steering shaft assemblies with precision needle bearing u-joints available for '79 to '09 full-size Dodge trucks.

Well worth the money

Borgeson Steering Box & Shaft 95-02 Ram

I used the Borgeson Steering gear box and shaft for my 2000 Ram 2500 4x4 and I'm happy with it. It feels lighter and having less turns to lock is an upgrade, steers like a modern truck now.

Improved steering yes but I will buy a stock replacement before I do another one of these 1 star for installation 4 star for improved steering won't recommend specifically for the pain of installation

Not worth the install

If I could go back in time. I would have ordered an OEM shaft instead of this upgraded one. Complete pain in the butt. Turned a half hour job into 2+ hour job, requiring a compact drill and taking the shaft off and on many times and turning the wheel 10+ times just to get everything together and if you mess up anything at all, you're damaging your steering box or the shaft going inside of the firewall. Instructions are also very poor. They reference a DD connection and tell you to look at figure B but figure b is a splined connection
