Been dealing with a loose tailgate for years. I took it as, it is what it is.
These small little pieces of plastic that are so cheap has made my 18 year old tailgate like new again. I can not believe the difference. Cheap, easy, and effective.

I also dealt with a loose tailgate for years. These were a little too tight for me. I had to drive the left side cup in with a socket. The right side has to rotate in the tailgate, as it is keyed to the bed. You need to be sure that it is turning freely inside the tailgate cup before you drop the tailgate on. Mine split as soon as I rotated the tailgate up.
