Insert the diesel engine barring tool into the flywheel housing to engage the flywheel ring gear. The engine can then be turned by hand using a 1/2-inch drive ratchet or breaker bar.
Designed for 5.9L and 6.7L Cummins B and C Series engines.

Tool worked as described. I used it to check lash on my '06 CTD. Turned engine very easy. I would recommend this tool to anyone.

i bought this to lash the valves after installing ARP 625s...its metal, which i was worried about it being plastic when i was buying the cheaper version of this on here, works very well. i'm not sure what the difference in the more expensive one would be.

Used your engine baring tool to turn my engine over , while timing my 12 valve cummins and wife even helped me hold engine from moving while I tightened down gear nut ,very easy to used worked and fit perfectly and confident I will get many yrs of use out of the tool , I will as always recommend Geno's for anything cummins 12 valve !!! I quickly realized that I needed to do the KDP fix due to the fact the person I bought my Dodge Ram 3500 4X4 Cummins 5.9 12v Dually from was the first and only owner and stated that he did not do or realize that was an issue, well I knew I would need the barring tool to remove the balancer, I also did the front seal just because I was in there anyway, the barring tool worked perfectly and I will need it for the next valve adjustment in the future.

Barring tool works as described. Some say you can turn the engine over with a socket on the balancer bolts, not a good idea. This tool is designed to work without damaging your harmonic balancer bolts.

Having the right tool makes the job much easier. Once I got the plastic cap off the access, stuck this on a ratchet and left it hanging in the port so that it blocked the engine from turning so that I could remove the harmonic balancer bolts.
Maybe it's a little pricey for a speciality tool, but so is my time. I imagine that I'll re-use it at some point.

'96 Dodge. Diameter too large. Spent 1 hour working down with file and sandpaper; then it worked fine.
