A driveshaft failure on our Ram trucks typically occur at the double cardan joint on the upper end of the shaft, next to the transfer case. After the driveshaft or transfer case breaks free, the loose driveshaft is likely to come through the cab floor, and can potentially rupture nearby fuel/brake/transmission lines; even causing fire in some cases.
