Description

Are you looking for a power steering pump for your '94-'02 Dodge Turbo Diesel that gives better performance than the OEM pump and at a lower price? A High-Flow Borgeson power steering pump is the answer.

This is a direct replacement Borgeson Hi-Flow power steering pump for the 1994-2002 Dodge Ram 2500 & 3500 trucks with the Cummins Turbo Diesel motor. This pump has the out-put pressure/flow calibrated to 1450-1550 PSI and 3.5 GPM to provide your Ram with all of the power it's steering needs. Features a new reservoir with two returns (ships with one capped) for all Hydro-Boost or Vacuum brake applications. All Borgeson power steering pumps are assembled and tested in the USA from globally sourced components.

IMPORTANT NOTE: When replacing the power steering pump, steering box or hoses, it is mandatory to flush the power steering system. Failure to do so will result in damage to these parts and void the manufacturer warranty. Be sure that the front end is off of the ground before doing this.

Power steering pump

Exact fit. A little tricky getting to the mounting bolts when removing old unit and installing new one, but all went well. Pay close attention about bleeding system after install. Might have to repeat a couple times.

Interference

The lower stud holding the pump together gets in the way of removal and replacement of the oil pressure sender on a Cummins engine. Cutting it off, or readjusting it will probably void the warranty. Otherwise, I am happy with the pump. I am just stuck without transportation right now.

Jackness

I've done business with Genos for at least 15 years and have nothing to say except great things about them and their products. Their tech support has also been very helpful to me many times. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

95 manual tranny heads up

After trying to stab the pump assembly several times I could see where the return spring bracket was hitting on the filler neck/reserve area. I bent the bracket down towards the block and was then able to get it lined up. Hope this helps out.

Extra Return Line?

Good pump for a fair price, but the extra return line is sort of a pain. It would be nice if it were an extra threaded return line port. Instead you have an extra hard line that just comes with a slip on plastic cap. Not very secure and leak proof if you don't need it. You'll have to come up with your own way of blocking it off properly.

Bad

Leaked out of the box. Spent days trying to solve it, turns out it's pump main gasket leaking. Also moved my 37s less than the stock pump at idle.
Owner Response:We are truly sorry for the troubles. This is not a issue that we have have seen in the many years we have sold this pump. It is a brand new pump, but even new parts have defects some times. Please contact us and we will get this taken care of right away.
