Description
Get our aftermarket full replacement dash top for your 2nd Gen '98-'02 Dodge Ram 2500/3500 or '98-'01 Dodge Ram 1500 trucks and help make the interior of your truck look new again. This is a full replacement dash top and not a cover. It is made in the USA with ABS plastic that is designed to help keep the sun from making the dash crack like the OEM dash. The dash top is only available in black.
We recommend that the dash be painted to match and to add one more layer of UV protection and cut down on its reflection in the windshield. Left unpainted, the replacement dash is quite reflective and will typically cause a glare on the inside of the windshield on a sunny day.
We will also include a copy of issue 82 of the TDR with an article on replacing the dash in a '98-'02 Dodge Ram 2500/3500.

To install the replacement dashboard you will have to remove the front dash so you can slide the dashtop forward. Some minor trimming and modifications will be required to make it fit.
Because all the holes for mounting the dash are cut on a 5 axis CNC machine, we have found that if the holes that locate the airbag tabs are off, then all of the holes across the front of the dash will be off. The part of our dash description that states, "some minor trimming might be required" pertains to some potential tweaking of the cut outs to get the tabs to fully seat. We recommend using a rat tail file after inspecting with a small mirror to determine which of the air bag tabs are not wanting to seat properly. You can also go in and finesse the louvers that are cut into the plastic at an angle to get them looking more finished. The OEM louvers typically crack if you try to remove them from an OEM dash, so we chose to have the louvers cut at an angle to direct the air to the side windows. Take the rubber from around the a pillars off the original dash and adhere them to the new dash so that you get a clean finished look around the a pillar.
NOTE: This dash fits all Sport and Non-Sport model trucks.
NOTE: We recommend replacing the old heater core and A/C evaporator at the same time as dash replacement.

Bought this to replace my busted dash. You have to paint to match if you are worried about it. I left it black. I don't mind the two tone as most cars have a two toned dash anyways. Installation wasn't awful just time consuming. It was easier having an extra pair of hands though! Overall I love my new dash even though I've got to replace the bezel and cup holders still.

As with any aftermarket parts there were some difficulties. The 5 screws along the windshield were not at the correct angle going through the dash. they need to be at a lesser angle which caused the screw head to rest on the dash making it very difficult to get a socket on it. With a little coaxing it worked. All the other holes lined up. Overall a good product.

Needed to do my heater core, dash on my 99 24 valve was falling apart. Perfect fitup. Left it black and rest of interior is tan. Doesnt look bad at all. There is a slight glossy finish on the dash so it gives a small glare but for a solid dash and working heater i can deal with it.

This product was a tad bit misleading, it stated that it was a full replacement dash. But you had to reuse the old dash mounts and like most 2nd gen dashes they are just as brittle as the busted dash. So I was able to replace the dash but could not reuse a few of the mounts that hold the dash down due to them being broken. Overall the product was nice and fit fairly well just a little bit of trimming. But it needs a more clear description of what the product is. It is not a full replacement dash but a replace dash that mounts to factory dash mounts that most likely are broken also.

We list it as a replacement dash because many customers call and ask if it is an overlay that goes over the existing broken dash. The broken components that you are referring to is the dash frame, and I am not aware of anyone that sells an aftermarket replacement but some dealers do still have them available. I will get the wording changed to a replacement dash top to help clarify the description.

Good fit and finish, looks like new. Disappointed that it's basically the same exact harder, brittle plastic as stock that is so problematic. Harder and more brittle than comparable trucks and suvs of the same vintage from different manufacturers.
Owner Response:Thank you for the feedback. Our dashes are made out of ABS plastic with a UV coating, and even though it is hard plastic, you should not have cracking issues like the OEM dash.

this dash was easy to install. The installation instructions says to remove the windshield and use lifting straps to lower the lower dash and heater core, completely don't need to do that. just undo all the screws, break or cut apart the old one, and install the new one.

Overall good product, was able to install with little trouble, very little trimming required. May want to think when installing, that you will disturb other components that are prone to breaking when disturbed during removal and installation, get those part on order at the same time. No glue or adhesive is provided should you reuse or install OEM side window vents. This definetly reduces the amount of screws you have to reinstall so take note, you will have leftover screws.

Dash fits great! Some have said they needed to do some trimming, but it fit perfect. My only issue is it's too shiny causing a glare on the windshield when the sun is out. Its a good dash otherwise.

I was mostly satisfied, but the fit was not as good as the original. Getting the gauge face to fit the new dash is not perfect. Also the passenger side airbag did not fit as well as the original.

The quality of the replacement dash is top notch. The instructions recommend a pretty in depth tear down including windshield removal, but you can easily get it in without going that far. Very minor trim fit up issues that can easily be remedied with an exacto knife.

I finally got one of these the fit and finish was outstanding I painted mine camel tan it took the paint with no issues it did need some slight trimming here and there but not much! even more impressive is the service you get from Genos Garage! the people are phenomenal! good ole fashion great service! and sincere. I do recommend replacing the four snap in nuts!

Fitment issues

Gaps in around air bag passenger side. Clips would not line up and go into place airbad sticks out from the dash now. No ammount of trimming would fix the issue. Gaps in the black bezel around the gauge cluster. Very difficult to get the clips to snap into place. Cracked black bezel whilst trying to get to clip to the new dash top.
Owner Response:Thank you for your review. We have found these same issues using OEM dashes on some trucks. Some go together easily, and others not so much. If the air bag assembly is firmly bolted down it makes this more difficult. Leaving the air bag assembly loose allows the plastic cover more movement to line up with the dash. You can also come in from behind and above the air bag assembly with a long extension to support the back of the dash. This keeps the dash from flexing allowing the plastic clips of the air bag plastic cover to pop into the dash more easily. The instrument cluster bezel can tricky, especially if some of the metal clips have been bent. A small pick used to move the metal clips of the bezel into the proper position as you gently work your way around the bezel greatly helps line everything up.
2nd Gen Dash Replacement

The process was a little time consuming. It was like a lot of things in life...ya ain't very good at it the first time ya do it. One thing I would do differently would be to use the old dash as a template to see what needs to be removed. I would go as far as to test fit the bezel and the air bag into the new dash before placing the new dash in the truck. I'm very pleased with the finished look of the dashboard. I cleaned some things that hadn't been cleaned for 22 years. My interior looks fantastic and I don't have pieces of the dash hitting my boots when I hit a bump in the road.
Missing lots of mounting holes

The part looks like the old dash until you turn it over and see that all the mounts for the vents are missing and after an hour of working on it with a Dremel tool so that I could get clearance for the air bag switch and other miscellaneous mounting screws I got it to fit. If I was not in a bind needing to get it installed to get the truck back on the road, I would have sent it back. Geno's customer service was spot on helping me track it down after shipping it but I would not purchase this product again.
Owner Response:Thank you for your review. Selling this dash for over 7 years, we know that not every truck is the same, and all too often the dash frame is cracked causing some mounting points to not line up properly. This is why we suggest having a file on hand to make minor adjustments allowing our dash and the dash frame to mesh together properly. We also know that not using the defrost plenum mounting screws that face towards the rear of the truck is not an issue. The defrost plenum is mounted to the metal brackets that are used when the dash is mounted to the firewall. The drivers and passenger window defrost mounting is double sided tape, but when the dash is mounted to the dash frame, everything lines up and allows the air to exit the louvers cut into the plastic at an angle to direct the air to the windows. Once the dash is installed, all of the defrost ducting is sandwiched between the dash top and the dash frame keeping them from moving around or vibrating. Our goal when developing this replacement dashtop was to offer the easiest installation at the lowest price we could.
