Description
If you're finding water inside the cab of your '10-'26 Ram truck, it can be a deteriorated third brake light gasket letting water in. This gasket will not shrink or take a set like the cheap factory PVC foam gasket. This automotive spec foam rubber gasket is .187" thick and has an adhesive backing to attach the light.NOTE: It is not a fun job, but it is necessary for the old gasket be removed and cleaned off the third brake light for a good seal.
This third brake light gasket is designed for use with those trucks WITH a brake light camera.
This will also fit 2019 to 2024 Ram 1500 classic and the 2011 to 2026 Ram 3500/4500/5500 cab & chassis models.

I might have just gotten lucky, or maybe the temperature was just right on the day I tackled this project, but removal of the old gasket wasn't that bad. I used a plastic caulk removal tool to follow as I slowly pulled up on the old gasket to try and keep as much as possible of the old adhesive on the original gasket. Some Acrysol and a microfiber towel pretty easily removed any remaining adhesive residue and dirt. Within 20 minutes I had the light removed and the mating surface completely clean down to the plastic.
We'll see how long this new gasket will last (I had to give a rating to get this note submitted), but it is definitely not the spongy OEM stuff that was completely compressed and ineffective. But, I wanted to give some feedback on the process for removing the old gasket.
